Years pressing decks
The Story
From a rooftop ramp to a riding movement
It began with a warped deck, a borrowed sander, and a rooftop in the city. Founder Mara Voss rebuilt that first board by hand — lighter, springier, tuned for flow — and her crew refused to ride anything else.
Today Nimbus presses small-batch decks from seven-ply hard maple and bamboo cores, each one tested on real streets before it ever reaches the shop. We stayed small on purpose: every shape is a decision, not a SKU.
The Craft
How a Nimbus deck earns its wings
Three stages, zero shortcuts. Each deck takes eleven days from raw veneer to shrink-wrap — and one final street test before it ships.
Select & press
Hard maple veneers are hand-graded, layered with a bamboo core, and cold-pressed for 72 hours to lock in a responsive, featherweight flex.
Shape & seal
CNC-cut to our signature cloud-tail profile, hand-sanded at the rails, and sealed with a matte finish that grips in wet and dry alike.
Ride & release
Our test crew puts every batch through stairs, bowls, and rough pavement. Only decks that pass all three earn the Nimbus stamp.

Riders first
Every shape starts as a request from our crew. If a deck doesn't make someone want to push further, it never leaves the workshop.
Small batches
We press in runs of 150, never warehouse thousands. Fewer decks means better wood, tighter quality control, and shapes that stay rare.
Lighter footprint
Responsibly harvested maple, water-based seals, and recycled packaging. A deck should leave marks on the street — not on the planet.
